Why We Are Building PlusMail
Email remains the most enduring, federated communication protocol on the Internet. Yet for modern developers, engineering teams, and small organizations, managing email has become increasingly complex, opaque, and expensive.
Legacy mailbox providers force teams into cumbersome proprietary ecosystems with steep per-seat pricing. On the other hand, raw email delivery APIs often leave developers to manually navigate the intricate maze of DNS records, DKIM key rotations, DMARC policies, and bounce suppression lists without adequate tooling.
PlusMail was created to bridge this divide. In our architecture, Cloudflare manages DNS and edge routing, AWS SES handles outbound cloud email delivery, and PlusMail provides the customer-facing interface, domain verification workflows, and sending controls to the extent currently implemented.
Our Operating Status
PlusMail is currently in active engineering preview under the parent domain pluskode.com. We are iteratively completing verification of our microservices, automated DNS provisioning tools, and security enforcement pipelines prior to commercial release.
Core Engineering Principles
1. Strict Anti-Spam & Reputation Protection
We believe in preserving the health of global mail networks. We enforce zero tolerance for purchased lists, spam, or abusive sending, protecting recipient inboxes and maintaining high domain reputation.
2. Standards Over Proprietary Lock-In
We build directly upon open Internet standards: SMTP, SPF (RFC 7208), DKIM (RFC 6376), and DMARC (RFC 7489). Your domains and cryptographic keys remain portable.
3. Automated Cryptographic Verification
Manual DNS copying leads to mistakes. We automate DKIM token generation, CNAME provisioning, and SPF alignment so security is frictionless by default.
4. Truthful Technical Communication
We never make unsubstantiated claims like "100% inbox placement" or fabricate customer numbers. Deliverability is earned through proper authentication, recipient consent, and list hygiene.
